Massage therapy can help reduce stress, relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and promote overall relaxation and well-being.

When it comes to the practice of massage therapy it is understandable for some confusion to arise. The titles of different techniqes and names for different modalities often are used interchangeably and at times incorrectly. While both "relaxation" and "therapeutic" massage sessions can provide benefits like stress relief, therapeutic massage is specifically designed to treat a medical condition, injury, or chronic pain with a targeted, clinical approach. The information provided on intake forms, combined with the collaborative consultation discussion between the therapist and client that occur at the start of every appointment, are what dictate the direction for each session. Relaxation Massage sessions incorporate gentle techniques aimed at stress reduction and overall tension relief. This type of massage helps to calm the nervous system by integrating the classic foundational massage strokes of Swedish Massage applied in a consistent rythmic motion that flows throughout the entire session. Most clients find it to be a very calming meditative experience.  Therapeutic Massage sessions typically begin in a similar fashion to relaxation sessions but become more specialized to implement focused and concentrated bodywork. Therapeutic sessions are best for addressing specific areas of difficult tension, noteable discomfort, or chronic issues. Stretching, Myofascial Release, Body Mobilization Techniques (BMT), Spontaneous Muscle Release Techniques (SMRT), Deep Tissue, and Trigger Point Therapy are just a few of the potential techniques or modalities that may be incorporated in a Therapeutic Massage session. Regardless of the title the framework for every session is guided by the principle of providing the most effective and beneficial result for that individual client while achieving the longest lasting positive outcome.

An overwhelming amount of research has shown that the remarkable benefits of massage are even more powerful when taken in regular "doses". According to ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals), and the Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami, the more massage you get, the greater benefits you reap! In a very condensed summary - Experts have determined that upwards of 90% of disease is considered stress related. High stress is a leading culprit for increasing the speed of aging on the body both internally and externally. Frequent massage has been shown to significantly reduce anxiety, relieve pressure and tension, and without doubt help manage and decrease stress. In response to frequent consistent massage the body produces a cascade of profoundly positive effects! That's the FLOW we're aiming for! (To learn more visit https://www.abmp.com )

Prices vary depending on the length of the session and the type or intensity of massage therapy requested. Please see 'Services' above for more information. Discounts may be available when scheduling 2 or more consecutive appointments back to back, on the same day at the same location. (i.e.: multiple family members, roommates, friends, etc.) Please contact me directly to schedule consecutive appointments, the online scheduling system is not set up to accommodate multiple appointments. Locations over 20 miles from the business address in The Villages may incur an additional distance fee. Review 'Practice Policies' for more detailed information.

By law proper and adequate draping MUST be used throughout the massage session. I am happy to provide direction/instruction for getting on/off the massage table discreetly and privately. I will always step out of the room (or into a different room) during any undressing/dressing stages. It is typically helpful to wear a full coverage robe, or loose fitting clothing for before and after your massage. For more specific details see the ''New to Massage' information under the Policies tab.

The massage table is 73in length x 32in width (6ft x 2.5ft) and there needs to be a minimum of 2ft on each side and roughly 3ft at either end. One easy way to estimate is if you are able to lay down and hold your arms straight out to the side and above your head. Please feel free to call or send a text with any questions or if you would like input to determine an ideal space  prior to your appointment!

What sets mobile massage apart from the rest is the flexibility to set-up your session wherever you want! The most common scenarios are either at home, or over a lunch break or gap in meetings at the office. Basically anywhere you feel the most comfortable! (That also allows adequate space, see above.) In the past clients have utilized space in guest rooms, offices, bedrooms, bathrooms, walk-in closets, kitchens, dining rooms, entry ways.... as long as there is space, the actual room doesn't matter! Aim for an area that feels calm and relaxing to you, and that will be mostly quiet and uninterrupted so that you can reach the maximum level of zen and relaxation! Weather permitting, and with appropriate attire/draping, outside patios and lanais by the pool create unique and enjoyable experiences!! (Happy to provide direction for getting on/off the massage table with discretion and maintaining full privacy!)

Nope! As part of a full service high-end mobile massage service I will bring all necessary linens and supplies. I will bring the massage table, linens, bolsters, lubricant options, music options, and aromatherapy options if requested. **Access to a sink of some sort for proper hand-washing before/after your session, is GREATLY appreciated.
